By Car
La Balsa is located just outside the village of Alquife, in the province of Granada, on the edge of the Sierra Nevada. It is easy to reach by car.
Arriving by plane? At Málaga and Granada airports you can easily rent a car — for example via Rentalcars — to comfortably drive to La Balsa.
From Granada
- Take the A-92 towards Guadix / Almería.
- Take exit 295 towards Guadix / La Calahorra.
- Follow the signs to La Calahorra and continue towards Alquife.
- Drive through Alquife and about 150 metres after leaving the village, take the first road on the left; the road is partly unpaved but easily accessible.
- After 650 metres, you will find La Balsa on the left-hand side.
Travel time: approximately 1 hour.
Vanuit Málaga
- Follow the A-7 towards Almería.
- Change to the A-44 towards Granada.
- Near Granada, take the A-92 towards Guadix / Almería.
- Take exit 295 towards La Calahorra / Alquife.
- Follow the signs to La Calahorra and continue towards Alquife.
- Drive through Alquife and about 150 metres after leaving the village, take the first road on the left; the road is partly unpaved but easily accessible.
- After 650 metres, you will find La Balsa on the left-hand side.

From Almería
- Take the A-92 towards Granada.
- Take exit 312 towards La Calahorra / Alquife.
- Follow the signs to La Calahorra and continue towards Alquife.
- Drive through Alquife and about 150 metres after leaving the village, take the first road on the left; the road is partly unpaved but easily accessible.
- After 650 metres, you will find La Balsa on the left-hand side.
Travel time: approximately 1 hour.
Public Transport
Guadix is easily accessible by public transport. Alquife itself is not directly reachable by train or bus, but no worries — we offer a pick-up service from the Guadix train or bus station. The price is €20 per ride with a maximum of 4 people per ride.
